Nine vendors were arrested during an inspection campaign against street vendors at Souq Al-Haraj in Najma yesterday. The inspection was put forth by Doha Municipality’s General Control Department in cooperation with the Research and Follow-up Department at Ministry of the Interior and Public Hygiene Project. An inspection of vehicles was also carried out to ensure that they were using tightly-sealed protection covers.

Doha Municipality’s General Control Department, in co-operation with the Research and Follow-up Department at Ministry of the Interior and Public Hygiene Project, launched yesterday an inspection campaign against street vendors at Souq Al-Haraj in Najma.
Nine vendors were arrested during the campaign and legal action was taken against them.
In addition, a team from Al Karaana Municipality office, which falls under the jurisdiction of Al Rayyan Municipality, in collaboration with Mekainis police station, carried out an inspection of vehicles that do not use tightly-sealed protection covers, resulting in their loads falling off. The campaign was launched in Salwa Road and a road branching off it within the jurisdiction of municipal office.
The team included head of Al Karaana Municipality office, chairman and inspectors at General Control Department in the office.
